Non-contact: Detects live wires without touching. Contact: Requires direct contact for accurate readings.
Use a battery and bulb tester: Connect wires to the circuit—if the bulb lights, there’s continuity.
Cut the damaged section, strip wires, and reconnect with UL-listed wire nuts and electrical tape—or replace the cord entirely.
Match the wire gauge (AWG) to the load: 16 AWG: Lights/small electronics (<10A). 14 AWG: Power tools (10–15A). 12 AWG: Heavy-duty equipment (15–20A)
